Franciscan Refresher Course

On March 22, 2024, the online refresher course marking the celebration of the 8th Centenary of the Stigmata began with its first session attended by more than two hundred people. The Course, promoted by the General Secretariat for Formation, had been presented to the Order with a letter from the General Minister dated March 11. Br. Roberto Genuin himself provided an introduction on March 22, recalling that “formation is not only for our young candidates,” but must involve everyone; this present offering “is a great opportunity for deepening and updating the essential values of our charism, for the sake of our vocation and for the service we carry out in the midst of the people of God.”

The course began with initial topics touching on Franciscan anthropology, the writings of St. Francis and the Stigmata, in keeping with the celebration we are experiencing this year of the Franciscan Centenaries.  The course will continue until the month of July. There will be 10 more sessions, which will explore various themes from speakers of various backgrounds, aimed at providing a more profound understanding of our charism.

You can find the topics of the sessions on our official YouTube channel OFMCap Communications Office, and we invite you to attend this course, totally free of charge, on the dates listed on the Zoom platform.
