Province of St. Francis of the Capuchin Friars Minor

Unification of the Provinces of Genoa, Lombardy, and Piedmont

On March 4, 2026, in Milan, at our Friary of St. Francis and St. Mary of the Angels on Piazzale Diego Velasquez, the Provinces of Genoa and Piedmont were merged into the Province of Lombardy, concurrently taking the new name: Province of St. Francis of the Capuchin Friars Minor.

The Decree (Prot. No. 00124/26) was read aloud by several voices, including the General Minister Br. Roberto Genuin, in the presence of many friars from the newly established Province along with others from the CEMCap Conference and the General Curia.

With the issuance of the Decree, the General Minister also appointed the first superiors of the new province, which, for the first three years, includes six provincial councilors; they are:
