Il Collegio Internazionale San Lorenzo da Brindisi è stato fondato nel 1908, adiacente alla Curia generale in Via Boncompagni. La sede rimarrà la stessa fino al trasferimento nell’attuale complesso sul G.R.A. , avvenuto durante il Capitolo Generale (19 agosto – 25 ottobre) del 1968.
E’ un’istituzione formativa e culturale di primissimo piano nella vita dell’Ordine dei Frati Minori Cappuccini, che ha la finalità di aiutare ad approfondire, trasmettere la cultura francescano-cappuccina e favorire nella maniera migliore la formazione delle future generazioni di frati cappuccini. E’ certamente la fraternità più numerosa e più multiculturale di tutto l’Ordine che accoglie i frati da tutte le circoscrizioni per frequentare le diverse Università Pontificie presenti in Roma. Il Collegio è composto dalla Famiglia stabile e dagli Studenti.The International College of St Lawrence of Brindisi in Rome was founded in 1908, adjacent to the General Curia in Via Boncompagni. It remained on the same site until it was transferred to its present site on the Circumferential highway around Rome (GRA), during the General Chapter of 1968.
The College is a front-rank institution of the Capuchin Order, dedicated to formation and higher education. It aims to deepen and to pass on the Capuchin Franciscan culture and to foster the formation of future generations of friars in the best possible ways. It is certainly the most numerous and multicultural fraternity in the entire Order, welcoming friars from all circumscriptions to attend the various pontifical universities in Rome. The College is composed of the students and the resident core-community.
