Official Presentation of the Lexicon Capuccinum

Volume II. Bio-Bibliographical

On November 21, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., the official presentation of Volume II. Bio-Bibliografico del Lexicon Capuccinum will take place at the Capuchin monastery on Via Vittorio Veneto in Rome. The volume is intended to be a historical and bibliographical dictionary of the Order from 1525 to the present day.

The current Lexicon, which is in fact an update and development of the one published in 1951, is intended to be a reference tool for various aspects of the history of the Capuchin Order. This Volume II. Bio-Bibliographical contains depictions of friars, Capuchin Poor Clares, and other people close to the life of the Order who have particularly distinguished themselves. Overall, the current edition contains 4,302 bio-bibliographical profiles.

The official event will be attended by Capuchin General Minister Br. Roberto Genuin and some of the friars who collaborated in the research and organization of the new volume.

Some of the topics of discussion will concern the journey of preparing the Lexicon Capuccinum as a fraternal service and academic tool, the bibliographic profiles via categories, models, and geographical origins, and reflections on the continuing development and future of the Lexicon Capuccinum.

The event will be free of charge for anyone in Rome who wishes to attend this first presentation of the Lexicon; there will be other presentations as part of the lead-up to the 500th anniversary of the Capuchin Reform.
