A few months ago, the General Minister announced a “Meeting of Capuchin Lay Brothers” – the last of which was held 30 years ago and marked an important milestone for the Order at large, yielding new insights into our vocation as Capuchin Friars Minor.
This time, the meeting will be held on the week of November 3-10, 2025, at the International College of St. Lawrence of Brindisi in Rome.
The meeting will be attended by lay brothers from all nine Capuchin conferences around the world, who will bring together their experiences, hopes, challenges and dreams in a celebration of God’s gifts of grace and fraternity.
The Capuchin Lay Brothers’ Meeting will be a time of sharing and reflection on the Lord’s call that we’ve all received to embrace our brotherhood and to walk together in this wonderful vocation, as the motto “Vocati una simul ut fratres” signifies.
Below we present the official logo for the meeting, created by Br. Héctor Mauricio Lemus Hernández, a Salvadoran friar from the Provincial Custody Our Lady of Hope, Guatemala-Honduras-El Salvador.
- Boat and brothers: this is the central image for the “called together as brothers” theme of the meeting, evoking the profound Gospel notion of going through the world two by two and understanding that we are all in the same boat together.
- Elements: Sun, birds and water refer to the centennial of the Canticle of the Creatures that we are observing in 2025.
- Cross: the front view of the cross alludes to the fact that it is the Lord who guides us in our vocation as brothers; moreover, its figure with an anchor refers to the Jubilee of Hope that we as a Church are celebrating this year.
- Colors: these are the basic colors used in the 2025 Jubilee of Hope logo.
We thank Br. Héctor Mauricio Lemus Hernández for his service and ask for your prayers for the Meeting of Capuchin Lay Brothers.
