On September 25 and 26, 2025, the Presidents of the nine conferences of the Order met at the General Curia in Rome. The General Minister together with his Council also attended the meeting.
There were a number of themes on the agenda: first, concise presentation from the conferences (their current activities, strengths and difficulties – formation, fraternal collaboration, etc.), and some more specific items such as missionary work, protection of minors and vulnerable adults.
A number of topics related to the Order’s journey were then addressed, such as the upcoming Meeting of Lay Brothers, and the Order’s IX Plenary Council to be held next year, which has already begun with the first initiative at gathering insights and reflections from all brothers around the world on mission, collaboration and the St. Lawrence of Brindisi Fraternities. Preparations for the Fifth Centenary of the Order in 2028 were also discussed.
The last part of the meeting gave the presidents an open opportunity to articulate insights both on these issues and on other aspects to which they wanted to bring the attention of the General Minister and Council. The friendly, fraternal atmosphere among the participants of the meeting and the warm reception by the friars of the General Curia contributed to make the meeting fruitful.
