The Capuchin Central Library and Capuchin General Archives will hold its twenty-third formation course from September 29 to October 4, 2025, as part of their service to the Order.
This course takes place every year at the International College of St. Lawrence of Brindisi at the behest of the General Minister and his Council; it is an opportunity for reflecting, learning and sharing experiences aimed at those who work in Capuchin cultural institutions in the various circumscriptions around the world.
Days of Formation 2025 will be dedicated to reflecting on Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on possible applications for the management and enhancement of the Order’s cultural, spiritual and documental heritage.
Also, at the center of the reflection will be the new challenges that Artificial Intelligence poses to the care and sharing of our charism with a focus on practices in our archives, library and museum, the specific modus procedendi of the Capuchin Friars Minor and the profile of those charged with working in these areas.

Themes of the Course:
- Digitization and metadata application to elements in the archives, library and museum.
- Artificial Intelligence applied to the description and use of cultural and documental heritage.
- Technological, economic, ethical, legal and spiritual aspects of the digital approach to preserving and accessing the Order’s historical data using Artificial Intelligence.
Duration: 40 hours
Procedure:
- Lectures and discussion workshops.
- Informative visits to cultural institutions in Rome.
- The week of lectures and meetings will be accompanied by the organizing committee and will include input from professionals in the field, friars and others (General Curia, circumscriptions of the Order, Vatican and civil institutions.
