The Communication Commission of the Capuchin Conference in Brazil (Comunicap) met in the city of Belém (PA) from March 28-30, 2025. Beyond technical and formative issues, Comunicap meetings reflect the desire to create fraternity, with special attention to methods of communication.
Br. Silvio de Almeida, Vicar General, spoke about the importance of the commission and the need to meet to discuss current issues. Animated by the General Curia, the brothers present reflected on the status of each of the Brazilian circumscriptions, how they are overcoming difficulties and making progress on communications.
In addition, the teams within Comunicap were reorganized and the tasks of each were specified. Considering the Holy Father’s words, there was a reflection on the influence of artificial intelligence on our communication processes and the need for a broad reflection on the topic as an Order, opening the possibility for other friars to participate.
The meeting was also an opportunity for sharing and celebrating the vocation of the friars and concluded with the wish to meet again soon.
