Economic Commission

Second in-person meeting, 2025

Rome, ITALY — On October 27, 2025, a meeting of the Economic Commission was held at our General Curia. The purpose of this meeting was to work on updating the Economic Manual of the General Curia and of the houses and institutes that depend on it.

The Economic Commission has a newly appointed membership, as have other international bodies and commissions of the Order, following the 2024 General Chapter. The new members, appointed on February 13, 2025 (Prot. No. 00092/25) by the General Minister are:

Br. Harold Arles Pérez Hernández, President – General Councilor

Br. William Chang, General Councilor

Br. Yustinus Saragih, General Treasurer

Br. Thomas Francis, Vice General Treasurer

Br. Alfredo Rava, Legal Representative

Br. Bonifas Lopes, Local Treasurer

Br. Giovanni Amisano (Lombardy Province)

Br. Nicola Marchiori (Venice Province)

The Economic Commission is advisory and serves the General Minister and his Council. As one can see, it is composed of friars who hold specific in-house positions (Legal Representative of the General Curia, General Treasurer and Vice-Treasurer, Local Treasurer of the General Curia) and two friars who are experts in economics, accompanied by two General Councilors.

Three meetings were held over the last year; two were in person and one conducted online.
