Dear Brothers,
Pace e bene!
You know, what makes me anxious a lot of times is when I go looking for something on the Internet or want to open some digital service and they ask me for a password. It seems like every time they ask for a password – a hundred thousand passwords you need to remember. And then maybe you open that certain app you haven’t used for a long time and you come to use it again, but the password has expired! So, now you have to do the whole process all over again. It makes me so anxious when I can’t immediately get what I’m searching for.
I’m being playful, but the Order in recent months, with its appointees has made a very great effort to remedy these issues by trying to revamp our site in such a way that it (the Order’s site) is more user-friendly, easier to consult and easier to navigate, more pleasant to navigate as well.
So, my recommendation is to take time to experience the Order’s new website. Try to look beyond seeing only how beautiful it is but look to see how much important content it has. It’s a considerable challenge, and I don’t think just for us but for the whole world. It’s also a challenge for us Capuchins to get to know one another, to get across what the Order does, what it produces, the means it provides for the growth of all. It is a great challenge with which we continue to strive – I think this is also a way to renew our dedication to the Lord in these present times with the present methodologies, the 500-year anniversaries, the 800th anniversary of Francis’ death next year. I think this is also one of the ways to animate the Order in the many places we are present.
However, for effective animation, it is necessary to consider the various aids that we need to constantly bring up to date. The website had remained in the same format for several years, and it needed a lot of work. I too will be curious to see how it turns out, because with the old site I too had some difficulty sometimes finding documents, let’s see if they have been so good as to make sure that there is now plenty of material (which there is!), but above all, that it is easily reachable, useful for everyone, not only of technical use but even for personal growth. It is often a useful ‘waste of time’ to read some documents or some of our stories, to see what the Capuchin friars have been doing around the world; it is useful because then our hearts are filled with vivacity, with strength, with hope. Please make good use of it and enjoy taking off with this new website of the Order.
