International week of Reconciliation & Mercy San Giovanni Rotondo (12 - 15 September 2016)
- Pubblicato in Segretariato generale della formazione
The Fourth International week of Reconciliation & mercy was celebrated at San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy from 12th to 15th September 2016. All the animators reminded the participants that it was a time for prayer, renewal, reconciliation and new insight to understand the gratuitous gift of God’s Mercy in our modern world.
Along with the traditional way of celebrating this week, the General Formation Secretariat also brought in a new breeze of socio-psycho & theological updating through the deep insights of the resource persons from diverse backgrounds.
Compassionate Presence & Diminishing Confessional Ministry
Taking the present reality into consideration the participants also discussed about the possibility of being a compassionate instrument of God. In many countries the traditional confessional ministry has been reduced very much due to the fewness of the number. It also points to the fact that we also cooperate with the Spirit of God in making the presence of God felt among the faithful by our spiritual and compassionate presence. Although the participation our Capuchin friars was scarce, the participants from different walks of life got inspired to start a new hope-giving journey of reconciliation.
We are grateful to Francesco Leo Ofm Cap and all the staff members of the Shrine of Padre Pio for making all the arrangements for this seminar. We are grateful to Br. Fernando Ventura Ofm Cap., who generously did the translation from Italian to English.
