In attendance were the provincial ministers (or their delegates) from Campania-Basilicata, Calabria, Central Italy, Emilia-Romagna, Foggia, Marche, Northwest Italy, Apulia, Sicily, Sardinia-Corsica, Tuscany, Triveneto, Catalonia, Croatia, France, Malta, Spain, Slovenia, the custos of Romania, the delegates of Albania and Greece, and the guardians of Algeria and Jerusalem. In addition, one of the provincial ministers of CENEC (Br. Helmut Rakowski \u2013 Province of Germany), the secretary of CEMCap (Br. Luca Romani), one of the two General Councilors of CEMCap (Br. Leon Bud\u0103u), and the Councilor of CENEC (Br. Marek Miszczy\u0144ski) were present.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main purpose of the meeting was to help participants reflect together on the situation, challenges, and opportunities facing the Order in Europe. This process was greatly aided by an <em>online<\/em> session with Professor Mauro Magatti, who, on the morning of the first day, drew inspiration from Pope Leo XIV\u2019s new encyclical, <em>Magnifica Humanitas<\/em> and gave an incisive and relevant talk on the theme, \u201cReflecting on the Complexity of the Euro-Mediterranean Context: Humanizing Ecclesial Pathways,\u201d followed by several comments from participants and small-group discussions. Prof. Magatti, with a communicative and stimulating style, presented the potential as well as the challenges in the age of Artificial Intelligence, emphasizing concrete witness (rather than words) and attention to the vertical and horizontal dimensions to keep alive the fire of the Gospel and our charism in the digital age.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ministers, custodes, and delegates shared the results of the<em> online<\/em> preparatory groups for the assembly. There was much discussion regarding support for their ministry, the presence and role of lay brothers in the various circumscriptions, and priorities for the Order\u2019s future presence in Europe. The assembly was also an opportunity to learn about the journey of CENEC. Br. Helmut Rakowski presented a summary, highlighting its challenges and opportunities. There was also discussion of the joint meeting of the two European conferences, scheduled for June 1\u20134, 2027, to promote agreeable and fraternal collaboration between CEMCap and CENEC.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the penultimate day of the assembly, elections were held for the new president and council of CEMCap. Br. Ivan Scicluna (Province of Malta) was elected president and Br. Alessandro Carollo (Province of Triveneto) was elected vice president; The following were elected as councilors: Br. Jes\u00fas Romero i Lagatto (Province of Catalonia), Br. Fernando Alberto Cabecinhas (Province of Portugal), Br. Filippo Maria Caioni (Province of the Marches), Br. Elie Rahm\u00e8 (Custody of the Near East), and Br. Christinel Ghiurca (Custody of Romania). Expressing gratitude for the service of the outgoing president, Br. Gianpaolo Lacerenza (former Provincial Minister of the Province of Puglia), and the outgoing councilors, we wish the new president and the council great success in their service to the conference.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the final day of the assembly, Br. Scaria Kalloor, Director of the JPIC Office at the General Curia, offered a reflection on the theme of justice, peace, and integrity of Creation, emphasizing how our commitment to JPIC stems from our relationship with Christ and constitutes an essential dimension of the Franciscan vocation and mission. He also proposed some concrete steps to deepen and promote this theme both in individual circumscriptions and at the conference level. While in Albania, the group visited several significant religious sites in Shkod\u00ebr, including the cathedral and its museum, met with the Poor Clares to pray vespers, and visited the chapel of the Stigmatine Sisters, where the tomb of Blessed Maria Tuci is located. Particularly moving was the visit to the prison where the Albanian martyrs were tortured and killed, witnesses to a faith that remained steadfast to the end and to authentic holiness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The assembly took place in an atmosphere of genuine warmth and fraternity.
