Ratio Formationis Ordinis – Chapter II

Dear Brothers,

We are sending you the text of the II chapter of the Ratio formationis and inviting formators in a special way to work together with the brothers in formation in writing up a record of their meetings. We ask the Brother Provincial Ministers and Custodes to publish the text to all the friars of their circumscriptions.

What’s in the second chapter?

The five fundamental dimensions that must be present in a ratio formationis:

1. Charismatic
2. Human
3. Spiritual
4. Intellectual
5. Missionary-Pastoral

What are we asking you to do?

• To read the text attentively
• To examine and check to see that the five dimensions are present in each stage of formation. In simple terms: in the stage of formation that you are in, are the five dimensions INTEGRATED in a balanced way or are some more prominent to the detriment of the others?
• In your opinion, is our charism expressed fully in every dimension? What do you think is lacking? What would you add?

The prepared results of these meetings mentioned above are to be sent to the International Formation Councilor of your Conference. Each and every contribution will be valued highly.
