Franciscan Family & Formators Training Course in Nigeria-2017

It was for the first time OFM, Ofm Conventuals and Capuchin formators gathered at Ibadan, Nigeria for the Formators & Ongoing formation course for two weeks from 7th to 18th August 2017. The theme was growing together into “Passionately Optimistic Integration in a Franciscan Way.”

Brothers of the same family

The participants were delighted to come together and some even said that they have seen the friars belonging to other Franciscan Families in TV programmes. And it is a good experience to see them in persons and experience together the brotherhood. They said it proved that we are brothers belonging to the same family.

Topics of the sessions

Franciscan Spirituality update - Br. Jaime Rey, Discernment in various stages of Formation and accompaniment - Kilian, Experience at the Periphery – Br. Joel De Jesus (a medical doctor from Philippines who serves the indigenous poor at the periphery), JPIC & Formation among the poor – Br. Benedict Ayodi, Inner Healing & Optimistic Integration-Br. Charles Alphonse

Brothers also had an opportunity to visit the periphery that is a hospital run by the Franciscan Sisters who take care of the abandoned children. Participants also had the chance to enjoy the brotherhood in at a Central Park which had a lush green garden.
