The Opening of the New Academic Year
College of Saint Lawrence of Brindisi in Rome
Rome. On October 19, 2019 the opening of the new academic year 2019-2020 was solemnly celebrated. The Mass was presided over by Br. Pio Murat, General Councilor. In his homily he emphasized the work of the Holy Spirit, which compels us to search for the truth, which will in turn lead us toward God.
For this academic year, there are 78 students enrolled at our International College, 25 of whom are in their first year. There are also 11 PhD candidates among the students. The faculty and staff consists of 15 professors and other friars who carry out various ministries in the College. In the house there are also eight confreres from the Historical Institute, who carry out important scholarly research.
The community of the College, despite being so large, leads a regular life of prayer and intellectual work, while also allowing for special diversions for fraternal life on the occasions of various festivities.
At the beginning of the academic year, we asked the Lord for his blessing upon our work and upon everything that constitutes the realization of our Capuchin vocation.
