Convocation of General Chapter LXXXVI- 2024

Dear Brothers, 

Time is passing quickly and the term of service to the Order entrusted to me in 2018 is drawing to a close. It is therefore time for us to come together again to assess what we've experienced, how the Lord has worked with us over these years, and to rekindle our sincere desire to follow the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

For this reason, with this letter, after having received the consent of the General Council, in accordance with the provisions of our Constitutions (cf. No. 124:2) and article 47 of the Orda Capituli Generalis Celebrandi (OCGC), I convene officially the LXXXVI Generai Chapter of our Order for the year 2024. 

Our Constitutions state that the General Chapter "is an outstanding sign and instrument of the union and solidarity of the entire brotherhood gathered together in its representatives" (Const. No. 124:1). But it also states that the Chapter is a time to deal with all things "relating to fidelity to our sound traditions, to the renewal of our form of life, the development of apostolic activity, and other matters of great importance for the Order, about which the brothers are to be consulted in advance" (Const. No. 125:1). 

Considering the above, I would like to review with you what has been established with the consent of the General Council in compliance with the provisions of art. 49 of the OCGC.

The Generai Chapter will begin on the morning of August 26, 2024, and conclude

on the following September 15; it will be celebrated in Rome at our International College of St. Lawrence of Brindisi. All capitulars are expected to arrive by the evening of August 25 and no later.
