Job

The job of the Office for Justice, Peace and Ecology is to help the General Minister and his Definitory in their service of evangelising the international Fraternity, and to assist the work of the Conferences and Provinces in the area of justice, peace and respect for creation.

Structure

The International Office is composed of two friars: Guido Situmorang (Prov. of Medan), director of the International Office in Rome, and David Couturier (P. New York-New England), one of the directors of Franciscans International.David Couturier

The director in Rome endeavors to animate and to form the friars in a Capuchin-Franciscan approach to justice, peace and respect for creation while coordinating the efforts of the international Capuchin family. Br. David, on the other hand, is the link to the work of Franciscans International. The international joint Franciscan office is at the United Nations. This acts as a channel for news, research, analysis, and action in connection with UN agencies and NGO’s, of which we (as members of Franciscans International) are associates.
