| In each of the great regions of
the world, the provinces are grouped into conferences.
This regional structure, made according to the language,
the culture and other social factors, renders the
collaboration easier in areas of common interests.
“The conferences, comprising
of the provincial ministers, the viceprovincials,
and the regular superiors of a region and of a territory,
are established by the general minister with the consent
of his definitory. The scope of the conferences is
to promote the collaboration between the provinces,
viceprovinces and the custodies with the episcopal
conferences and the conferences of the major superiors,
dealing with various issues. The conferences thus
enable more uniformity in government whenever this
is possible" (Constitutions
131,1)
