The so-called “College”
is actually a large fraternity, in fact the largest in the
Order, with an international character. It contains around
150 friars (students, core fraternity, professors and other
personnel). Founded in 1908, with its first headquarters in
Via Sicilia (Rome), since 1968 it has been in new premises
on the Grande Raccordo Anulare (the Roman Ring Road). Its
purpose is to welcome our young friars from all over the world
when they come to Rome for higher studies at the various ecclesiastical
Universities.
The College also houses the
Historical Institute of the Order, the
Franciscan Museum and the Central
Capuchin Library.
