The memorial of Bl. Felix of Nicosia has been transferred
from May 29 to June 2 to avoid multiple celebration dates.
For that reason we have opted to conform the calendar to
the norms given in the decree of October 25, 1985 (Prot.
n. 1324/85). Background information: 1) the Congregation
for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments,
in approving the liturgical calendar for the church of Sicily
(July 28, 1976), assigned the memorial of Bl. Felix of Nicosia
to June 2; 2) in a decree dated January 17, 1980 (Prot.
n. CD 1152/79) the same Congregation for Divine Worship
and the Discipline of the Sacraments, in approving the Latin
and Italian texts for the Mass and Liturgy of the Hours
in honor of Bl. Felix of Nicosia, once again assigned the
celebration of Bl. Felix to June 2, to be celebrated as
a feast in the friary at Nicosia and as an obligatory memorial
elsewhere in the Province of Messina; 3) on February 9,
1981, the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline
of the Sacraments approved the Seraphic Calendar for Sicily,
once again assigning the memorial of Bl. Felix (as an obligatory
memorial for all Franciscans in Sicily) to June 2. The same
was confirmed by the Congregation in a letter dated August
18, 1987 (Prot. n. 982/97).
|
The
memorial of St. Francis Mary of Camporosso has been transferred
from September 20 to September 19 because in the universal
calendar of the church, the obligatory memorial of St. Andrew
Kim and Companion Martyrs falls on September 20.
