Analecta
OFMCap - now in its 121st year of publication -
was begun by Br. Bernard of Andermatt, general minister
of the Order, in 1884. Written in collaboration with the
general secretariat of the Order, Analecta contains official
communications and other information of general or archival
interest to the Order, including death notices of all the
deceased of the Order and recent works either authored by
friars or whose content bears some particular connection
to the Capuchin Order. Analecta is published 3-4 times per
year. Until rather recently, it was published entirely in
Latin but is now entirely multi-lingual, using as its basis
the eight languages for which there is a language secretary
at the curia: English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian,
Polish, Portuguese, and Spanish. Occasionally a particular
decree or necrology may still be found in Latin.
